How to deal with a fake infection warning
If you're browsing Web pages and a warning appears telling you the computer is infected and to call a tech support number, don't. No matter how many times you try to close the warning it reappears.
- Hold down the power button at the top-right of the keyboard.
- After a few seconds you will arrive at the login screen. Click on the items at the bottom-right corner of the screen where the time and wireless signal meter is.
- In the menu that appears, click the power symbol (looks like a circle with a vertical line through the top) and restart or shutdown. After the computer restarts the malicious page should be gone.
